No matter what some Saab-heads hope for, there is zero likelihood of new Saabs ever being produced and offered for sale in the United States. That train left the station and the passengers on the train had keys for Audis, Volvos, BMWs, Kiundais, VWs, and Toyondaruzdasans in their pockets.

As great as a nice turbo Saab may be, it can now be smoked by plenty of V6 and turbomotor cars from lots of automakers. They may not have all the features us Saab guys prefer, but they can be fixed at more places and do most of what a Saab can do. Saabs stopped being really special when they stopped making the 9000 (although some would say the C900).

It's too bad, and I plan to run my 9K and my wife's 9-5 as long as possible, but the rest of the world has moved on. And no one but die-hard Saab owners care.
