pretty standard stuff when a company or a manager wants to make someone go away. It's just part of the joy of working for a company.
Yes you would be resigning the position and getting a package, on your employment records it would be just that you resigned - a future potential employer may inquire about why you left and I would be honest about that .
If you've not been working there all that long them offering you a package seems decent. Here in the states many states are what I think they call employment at will or something like that and the employer can terminate an employee for most any reason or no reason at all but with protected minorities they are more careful
Don't let it get you down, that would be the worst outcome.
