It's not a big deal. I've done it numerous times. Assuming the insurance company doesn't brand it "nonrepairable" - which is unlikely - the only thing involved in resurrecting a salvages car is a brake & lamp inspection. which takes 30-40 minutes and costs $60-$100 plus a trip to the DMV. Easy.
