I won't say I've never driven 80, but it's usually just to pass or get out of the way of the speeders.
I find it unsettling when the speeders fly past at 90+ mph. Especially when that driving behavior is combined with weaving across multiple lanes of traffic.
Even in rush hour traffic, the speeders usually only get to the next traffic slow down faster.
Better to go slower.
I also agree about the driving aids.
