In a general sense I believe option packages tend to lose much of their value, probably short of really stripped down models that might scare people away. Great for second hand buyers who can get the goodies at dramatically reduced costs.

4Runners do seem to retain value though (as you can probably tell by paying $35k for a 2014) so you're probably already ahead of the game there, and the full time AWD is a pretty specific thing which could hold it's value more than say a heated seat and climate control package or whatever, you'd really have to take a look and try to figure out if that plays a big role in resale.
