I agree, that is a lot of cash for a used vehicle.
Not sure about the venza though... we rented one for a long drive, and really, it is less usable than you would think. Lots of room for passengers, lots of volume inside, but if you are taking 4 passengers, it really doesn't haul any more than a 9-5 sedan and does not drive half as nicely. It kind of has most of the characteristics of a minivan, except the utility aspects. It basically works like a wagon but is bigger in volume but not in useable space.
Highlander might be a good alternative to 4 runner for everyday use. Really depends on one's needs. I would look at the Honda offerings as well if I was in that market. Well, actually, I would be more interested in Volvo, Audi, BMW etc, but Honda/Toyota are closely competitive usually, and Lexus/Acura may be possible in that price range also. There are so many options out there if you aren't specifically buying this to off road, I don't know where to start beyond that.
