designed for speeds greater than 65 mph. They're posted at
65 not because it is unsafe to drive at higher speeds but because
effectively the fines for driving above that speed are a lucrative
revenue source for various towns and states, ie., another tax.
People who drive in the left hand lanes and who aren't in the
process of overtaking another vehicle have absolutely no social
conscience, whatsoever. I always make an attempt to stay to the
right, unless I want to pass. Why can't everyone else follow this
very simple rule? Trafffic would flow much smoother if only people
would drive with a conscience. Instead, it's not unusual to see
a vehicle in the passing lane travelling side by side with another
vehicle to the right, for miles, with a long line of vehicles behind
the 'hanger' in the passing lane. People who 'hang' in passing
lanes may not lack only social conscience, but maybe consciousness in general.
