I too have had just about enough from Dell, although i should say i am currently happy with my system since it is with it I am posting this response (please dont crash). I recently tried to upgrade my OS because i found windows ME too unstable. When upgrading to XP, I ran into nothing but problems. So i started from scratch and went to go download drivers - not provided by dell when i bought the computer, from their website, only to find that what i specified for hardware when i bought the computer was not what was actually in the computer. I went so far as to pull out my ordering slip that had everything on it that i ordered. When trying every driver i thought possible, i opened up the machine to find that the equipment was made by an entirely different company. A royal PITA if you ask me. What was it that i paid for? ( add $$$ for this and an extra $$$ for that)
As for tech support - forget about it.
When ranting about this to my father, he too has had similar problems with Dell computers through work.
Sorry for ranting, needed to take out my frustration somewhere and someone else already started it - and he runs the board!!
