I could be mistaken, but I think SAAB was on the non-toxic leading edge.
So far the 10 and 20 services have been more of an inconveinence than anything else. And, I would have had Mobil 1 in the whole time if it were up to me. I have been buying the SAAB semi for the dealer req 5k changes that I do myself. I think those jokers are using Castrol semi instead of SAAB since they advert it in their service area and are also a VW dealer. So, so far I think the car hasn't had a consistant oil change yet. I am just going to bring M1 0W-40 along for the 30k service and put M1 5W-30 at 25k (Wal Mart special and I'm going to have to drive quite a few hours to get 0W-40 for next time).
But, oh yeah, I have some major DIY coming up. Brake bleed, coolant, and MTF. The MTF is going to break me, as I plan on going to the new stuff. 4.5qts @ $14/qt. Sheez.
Then comes the rest of the picture. I'm scraping up for an SAS bar and trying to figure out the exhaust. I took a quick spin without the center section to get a feel for the sound level after the cat. A straight pipe won't do and a side, b.flippo Touring Series exhaust won't make it on the Ms. baby anyhow. I thought about a cutout for 3sec. I thought I could hear the British/Triumph root in the exhaust note, but I already have enough fun blowing the doors off ricers in silence. I'm thinking visiting a local perf exhaust shop and having them cut out the resonator and cut in a perf free-flow rear muffler. Hopefully salvaging the stock tip.
We'll see what winter brings.
later,
tony
