It's great stuff, and not quite as expensive. It really helps out those slow second gear synchros. It makes the first to second shift in my Viggen much easier.
I've a friend (Randy Saucier) who sets my car up for me. He heads Mazdaspeed's race effort. He's not cheap, but he makes a gorgeous mandrel bend exhaust. Mine is fairly radical and exits the side, but he can make one that will exit the rear and retain the stock tip. He uses 3" thinwall stainless steel tubing (he'll even use coated tubing for a price). The entire exhaust system for my car weighs around 6 lbs. The welds weigh more than the pipe itself. He can flange it and ship it so that you're local muffler shop can flange your stock setup also. This will allow you to bolt and unbolt the exhaust yourself. You can switch from stock to performance whenever you want. With the hanger brackets installed, it only takes me around 10 minutes to switch back and forth.
Have fun.
Cheers,
Brian.
