I finally am ready to purchase a car besides an economy box. (Currently drive a Nissan Altima, not bad except for the new transmission it received at 62K due to internal damage)
I've narrowed the line down to Audi A4, BMW 330, Caddilac CTS, Jaguar XJ, Saab 9-3, and Saab 9-5. Still a pretty big list. I have test driven the Audi/BMW/Saab. All three are impressive cars with their unique characteristics (haven't driven the 9-5, but the dealer (Sports Cars Specialists in Princeton) had the 9-5 Aero closely priced to a fully loaded 93ss Vector). As I plan to keep this car for years (10+) I want to make a purchase of a car that would transcend over shifts but would also be extremely reliable, as I drive about 20K a year.
I am 27 years old, single (and will probably remain that way, no prospectives) who has a very good job (hence the purchase of a nice car) and enjoys the outdoors. I live literally in the land of BMW, Mercedes and SUV's, more of them per capita here than anywhere else i've seen, Flemington NJ. As I like the outdoors, I will purchase a roof rack regardless of the car for both my Mountain bikes/kayak, will not consider a SUV nor wagon.
As I know this BB will be biased toward Saabs I am asking for an honest opinion. I really like the 93SS. But after speaking to several people, reliability became an issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Phil
