Just got back from work-rental 250 mile trip in a Lincoln Town Car. Must have been out of midsize, so...
What a piece of shit.
I expected it to handle like the 1970 Pontiac Executive I owned 30 years ago, but I really expected some modern amenities.
I expected it to have Bluetooth, but I grabbed a MP3 cable in case I needed that to listen to my iPhone. Grabbed a USB cable to charge, and lighter adapter, but was hoping maybe it had a direct USB connection.
I don't know if Ford has a stripper radio for fleet use, but...
NO Bluetooth, NO AUX in. Can you believe it?
1/2 hr into the drive, thought I'd add a little more lumbar support.
NO lumbar adjustment.
If you floored it, and it downshifted a couple, then it would move some, otherwise, very little acceleration.
I really wasn't that impressed at how it dealt with road irregularities.
The steering wheel volume (and cruise control) inputs down at 4:00 and 8:00 positions, so you basically take your hands off steering wheel (OK, you could slide) to use them, since it was an unnatural position.
NO DRL's. It did have "auto" headlights, but I thought they should have been more sensitive to dusk conditions.
The emergency flasher switch was this tiny thing on top of the steering column, halfway hidden by the steering wheel. I suspect most people, even w/o any additional stress, wouldn't see/recognize it.
The back-up sensors started beeping a couple of feet further than a SAAB, but then never went solid beep as you got inches away. Thankfully just soft snow pile that I tested that on.
Hated the seat adj switches and heated seat switch on the door panel.
I think this is perhaps the last year for the Crown Vic/Town Car.
Good riddance.
The only plus I can think of (well, did seem like nice leather, and I'm sure the trunk was cavernous), did get mid/upper 20's mpg, on the highway.
