I hate the high seating position. I much prefer a lower center of mass. I almost never back out of parking spots (I always drive through, or back in - it's safer), so that aspect is lost on me.
Main benefits imho of CUV is clearance. Lots of cars have AWD - and they still need snow tires around here... but on a big snow day, it is the clearance that sets SUV/CUV's apart! Or if I have to drive down some really rural road/driveway with *big* rocks or holes... But then, all the rest of the year I'd have to deal with the downsides of AWD and the high seating position...
sorry Norm, I'm still not sold on that Encore!
