So to be fair, I have not driven the 2014 Forester, so the improvements might be significant. It would not be hard to improve the handling vs 2009. I would almost rather drive a minivan than that thing... and I despise minivans!

What was interesting to me was that Forester really did not haul much in terms of cargo in most normal situations. The big opening in the back is great if you had a large item to bring home (like a dishwasher). Other than that, with 4 people in it, the trunk area is tall but not very long. So things I would fit lengthwise in a c900 sedan would have to go cross-wise in the forester... and though it is tall, you can't stack stuff to the ceiling without a barrier to prevent stuff from toppling on the people in the back seat. In the end, with 4 people on a long trip, it had almost exactly the same cargo capacity as a c900 sedan!

So all in all, I figure a Crosstrek provides pretty much all the same function as a forester. And if a Juke is pretty close to a Crosstrek, well maybe that's why the Jukes are selling decently (even if they are ugly!)...
