Why do I have the feeling you're not a regular here?

Sure a Honda can be turbocharged to 400-500 hp on stock internals. No problem at all. OH wait, they can't. To get anywhere near that kind of power you'd have to spend big money on a complete upgrade of pistons, conrods etc.

On the Saab B234R, 400+ HP and tons of torque is not a problem with stock internals...
Anyone can pour tons of money into a an engine and make 400 HP with a gigantic turbo. I'd like to see a Honda street engine with stock internals do that (without blowing up after 500 kms)....
I have a hard time believing that you're going to *reliably* get more than ~200 HP out of a Honda 1.6L with a turbo kit slapped on. Anything more and it'll grenade pretty fast.

As for the original post, well 5th gear is as mentioned not suitable for maximum acceleration at 60mph. But the SPG is also not exacly one of the fastests Saab models around unless heavily modded.
