Another band-aid which tricks the load signal from the factory AMM (or map) which is suppose to be the main boost-rocognising input of the engine management, it tells the computer that the engine is running less boost than it actually is, hence the cut-out point is lifted. This also is the major problem with these. By thinking the engine is running lower boost, the computer will automatically lean off the air/fuel and advance the ignition slightly (DI cars). Detonation is just around the corner. If you DO get one, get it tuned on a dyno.
Having said that nothing beats getting the engine management reprogramed to suit.
