I have been running the T5 ECU in my 1997 900 for quite some time now, and damien (on this board) was the reason I originally went this route, as he is/was using it in his 98 900. There is some concern that "the car won't even start," but if you are in WNY, drop me a line, and I will "start" the car and take you for a ride to disprove this myth.
The HOT ECU is programmed to use the power (200hp) differently than the stock 185hp. Maximum torque is listed at 209 (compared to 194), and the peak comes available at 2,300 and is relatively constant/flat/there right up until 4,600 and max hp is achieved at 5,500. Also, max boost seems to be raised as well, although I have had a hard time to pull hard evidence to support this.
The result is that the car pulls stronger and more constant once that boost kicks in, and the Butt Dyno agrees. This may be why the T5Boost "does not work well" as you indicate. Thanks.
