The anticipator does just that, and it does not change the boost target of the MBC at all.
What is does do, is put a preload on the WGA that does not open it. Then when the MBC does open, which it does too late, it can get around to stroking the WGA. Without the anticipator (MBC-A), the MBC starts to flow ,the boost is rising very fast, the flow from the MBC needs to start to flow through the bleed orifice to get pressure, then more flow to get the WGA up to lift off pressure, then more flow to stroke the WGA to the point where boost increase is stopped. All of that takes time. With the MBC+A things work well. Without, its lower boost settings, fuel cuts and boost droop at high CFMs. All of this is explained in the posts from last year.
A ball-spring MBC really needs a softer WGA spring to work right! How is that for counter intuative? The +A solves the problem.
