The pads that came off were too shot to reuse. I did put the micrometer on the new discs and they’re exactly the same thickness as the old discs (which are still serviceable with a light turning).
I don’t have a spec on the pad thickness and what it should be. This set came from one of the European classic SAAB suppliers.
If we gently cruise along without using the brakes, nothing gets worse, but a 1/4 mile of normal braking and things get hot, discs expand, and you have to pull over. It seems like it’s more a problem of the front pistons not returning to position?
