Thanks for all the input! I should explain that I also have modest expectations for this upgrade alone; the thing is that my FoMoCo carb is damaged and I need to replace it. Since I don’t want to get a mediocre set up in the meantime, I felt it made sense to just buy what I ultimately want, even if the rest of the motor is still choking on a weak cam, small valves, etc. Those upgrades will surely happen in time, but I want to get this car on the road first.

I don’t have an intermediate plate though. What is its purpose?
