Ijust bought a 34ICH and the fuel line connection was on the LEFT side. The last one I bought was like you said on the right side and has to make an immediate turn.

In any case for the 34ICH (yes, I know the talk as has been about two-barrel) you can drill out one of the non-functional fuel ports and connect on the left side. Not hard to do.
