900 belt into 97

The whole 900 three point rear belt; reel, anchor and latch, bolted into my 69 Sonett without any modification to the assembly or the Sonett, but there is an internal modification needed for it to work.
The 900 has a pendulum that locks the reel in roll-over situations. The reel must be maintained in a specific angle to prevent locking. The Sonett mount is horizontal or about 45 degrees different from the 900 mounting. The reel was constantly locked, no retract, no extension. I removed the reel cover and removed the pendulum weight. This has the effect of defeating the roll-over lock.
The modification has no effect on the extension rate lock. The belt still locks within an inch or so of belt extension provided the speed of belt extension is rapid. If I press on the brakes hard (maybe 1/2 G?) the belt latches. It releases again provided both the deceleration has subsided and the tension on the belt has relaxed.
If I were to ever put the Sonett into a slow roll over before a frontal impact the belt won't latch. No Joie Chitwood driving up on two wheels with this belt modification.
