Reading all the posts, one can see the 9-5 still needs a little tweaking, but is generally loved by it's owners, which is our case for the base 01. A few brief comments:
Never had a problem with doors not staying open.
Yes, I wish my window was up by the time I have to shift in second gear! Windows should be «one touch up» as well as down. The sun roof and windows should close with the alarm as mentioned elsewhere.
The key should stay in the middle, but as mentioned could be improved, Aside from being a safety feature in case of an accident, when you fasten your seat belt before starting the engine, it brings your hand to the ignition. Clever .
I don't understand why Daylight Running Lights are not mandatory in the USA as it is CLEARLY proven they save lives, but then I don't understand why the USA is keeping the archaic imperial measuring system...perhaps a related topic; BUT, I agree the DRL should not be the same lights as the normal driving lights.
Definitely too much road noise on bad pavement for this class of vehicle
All sound systems should have 9 speakers, and believe me, having added the two «missing» ones, it makes a big difference.
Would love a SAAB performance package for the 185 hp LPT.
Yes the cup holder is clever, neat, cool, funky etc...which does not do a lot for my passenger's cup.
I love the way the SAAB roof rack fits into the side of the top without resting on it. It's simple and quick to install, sturdy and leaves no marks whatsoever. Moreover, it is inexpensive.
Driving a lot on snow an ice, I very much appreciate the TCS. I think SAAB has one of the better systems out there. It’s not as good as AWD, but is a big plus at a fraction of the cost.
I consider the front seats adequate but I long for my 9000T seats.
Happy and safe New Year to all.
