Didn't mean to get technical... It is just that every damn manufacturer has a different name for what we engineers simply call "yaw control" so rather than pick a trademarked name I just went with the one that described what the system did rather than call it something fancy. Some that come to mind:
stabilitrac
advancetrac (lincoln)
VSC (vehicle skid control)
This brings up another thing that I feel needs to be commonized:
Acceleration Slip Regulation. (traction control system in saabland) I really wish the OEMs would just pick a name for it and all call it the same thing. I can't think of them all but there are tons of have seen the following acronyms on buttons and been confused myself what the button did:
TCS
ETC
TC
ASR
Everybody calls ABS, ABS. I wish the OEMs would not try to make the names so damn confusing...
