In answer to your questions:

- Yes, I have driven the 530, and it is excellent. However, I never implied I was cross-shopping the two vehicles. It's out of my price range, esp for the features I would want as options. I am responding to your posted comparisons, I didn't bring it up.

- My price quotes for BMW have been $1000-$1500 off MSRP, never more than that. I have shopped at various times for 3 series (bought an A4), and Z3 Coupe (bought an SLK). With the same "effort" at negotiating, I had better response from Saab. And again, I didn't buy an Aero. I bought an Arc. Because I agree with your statement on hp and speed.

- I apologize for the personal attack. I got provoked when you disparaged the interior of the Saab with a childish fisher price remark, and when your list ignored major, practical considerations like space and safety but made mention of 'legibility'. I took the bait.

- Of course I would say this "to your face". These aren't fighting words. And of course, in person, there would be a much more productive give-and-take. This was a riposte, not an impalement.

- It's impossible for you to both stand by your previous post (which ended by questioning the value of an Aero at $43k) and your current post -- you already knew you had a quote at $36k. That changes the entire value equation which was central to your discussion, as you made several "for the money" statements. That's misleading, and I don't know what motivated that.

If you'd been forthcoming about the true price difference, and if you had not popped off with a fisher-price comment, I would not have attacked you. I am sorry my attack offended you. However, I will not let misleading and incorrect information go unchallenged.
