But the 9-5 has become more of a family car that happens to ride real nicely. And we obviously don't base our car choice on the cupholders, otherwise you wouldn't see all of us complaining about the lack thereof (we wouldn't have the car in the first place). I don't know your pet peeves re the 9-5, Ron, but based on the response here -- and in similar earlier posts -- there are many who feel the lack of 'real world' front storage space and the lack of practical front passenger cupholders detracts from the car overall. My kids have all the room and cupholders they need in the back (plus their butts keep warm on cold days) so they've got it made. Now give us somewhere to stick our American stuff and we'll be happy (and get the damn key out of the way, too!) Personally, I have a cell phone mount in the 'trick' cupholder, and I drive with a capped water bottle between my legs. Fortunately I don't drink coffee or tea (you wanna talk distractions, Brian? Try unscrewing the water bottle with your teeth and driving!)
And btw -- my Grand Caravan has 14 cupholders and a night panel setting! Yup, a great car indeed.
