The 9-5 is a great car. The in-dash cupholder is just about perfect for all the drinks I use it for ie., water, coffee, fast food drinks, etc. If it were any bigger then the small cups wouldn't work, as they wouldn't be held securely. As far as storage is concerned, I recognized the space concerns up front and talked my dealer into throwing in the trunk CD changer when I bought the car. Now, with the rear pockets, front seat pockets, glove box and door pockets I believe there is plenty of space to store essentials. The more storage space, the more junk you have littering your car. The cupholders in this car beat the hell out of the ones my BMW 528 had. They were flimsy, ended up broken most of the time and never held anything secure anyway.
