You get in one from the other, and you feel at home. The 9-5 is going to be much less trouble, on average, and is smoother, quieter, even safer in a crash, and more "tossable". The 9000 has more interior passenger space, and the hatch holds almost as much as the 9-5 wagon. The 9000 Aero is definitely more powerful than the LPT 2.3 or 3.0 9-5 motor. I prefer even the CS(E) seats to the standard 9-5 seats, and the 9000 Aero seats - er -"outsit" the 9-5 "sports seats" (although the latter are very good and IMO better than the standard 9000 chairs - but then that's not what you're buying). The 9-5 you are shopping for is two to four years newer, but is a "first of a kind" while the 9000 is "last of a kind."
Which one is better? that's for you to decide, but mostly they are "the same, but different".
