My 85 900S (2.0 liter, non-turbo) gets ~28 m/g.
My 96 900S (2.3 liter?, non-turbo) got aroung 24.5 m/g.
My 00 9-5 Aero (2.3 liter, BIG turbo) gets 22 m/g overall but has seen 30 m/g on SLOW highways trips.
Incidentally, my 96 Saturn SL1 (1.9 liter SOHC I think) got ~30 m/g but it was light. My 98 BMW 328i got 24.5 out of a 2.8 liter inline 6.
I think the best comparison is the Aero to the 328i. They are both about the same weight, Aero is maybe 200 lbs heavier. I'd give the aerodynamics to the Aero but not by much (.31 Aero vs. .32 BMW). BUT, the BMW had .5 liters more and 2 extra cylinders. I, frankly, flogged both cars and yet the BMW gets 2+ more m/g. Hmmmm...
Ecopower my a**... Of course, if I didn't really use the turbo on my car, then I'd probably get great mileage. In any case, I didn't buy the car for the mileage (that's kinda what the 85 900S is for).
