Hi,
We all have to make a deal with the devil eventually, and when we do,
we are let in on the secret that the devil is not some disembodied evil
being. It is the other part of us of which we're not so proud, and by
acknowledging it we become whole. Until then, we're just deluding
ourselves and indulging our need for fantasy. :-)
A lot of people look on GM as the devil and bemoan its involvment with
Saab, but since GM has been funding Saab, the cars have become better.
Sure, the idealism has been lost (and the chiselled good looks), and that
loss of idealism and innocence is fodder for nostalgia. However, remember
all of those counter-culture hippies in the Sixties and how quickly they
abandoned their idealism and became executives of heartless corporations
they so despised?
We all have to grow up sometime, and part of the process involves
acknowledging the devil within us which stands for practicality and
compromise. :-)
thanks
Jae
