What v6's and v8's are your speaking of? SAAB's kick a lot of performance out of a 4cyl. But you have to consider that other manufaturers have caught up.

The number I can think of are buick's 3300 had about 155hp and 180lb-ft as I remember. crown vic v8 210hp 'stang 4.6 v8 260hp bmw 325 i6 185hp 174ft lb 0-60 7.1 (i would attribute this to their lack of an overdrive gear. these things turn 3000ish rpm at highway speed.)

I believe ecopower lived up to its advertisement. Count the daily drivers that can boast 100+ hp/torque per liter. BTW, I regularly see 28or so mpg during a typical 70mile round trip commute in stop and go traffic. I would love that number to go higher, but I wouldn't give up a single ft-lb to get it.

Please sight some of you numbers, just because I am curious.
