ECU with corroded connector

Greetings All, I have a 2006 9-3 ARC convertible that I have recently invested $3600 for suspension work, starter replacement, new tires and general maintenance before it stopped running. Diagnostics identified corrosion inside the ECU connector as the cause of my dilemma. The car was at a garage that did not instill confidence that $1000+ for parts plus labor would get the job done. So I opted to bring it home and try to do better myself. I am new to the blog so I do not have pictures up as I write this but I will soon. I am seeking advice for ECU and connector suppliers as well as techniques to rebuild/restore the ECU/connector economically.
When the pictures are up you will see one pin location in the connector has a pin stuck in the hole. This is the worst corrosion site. I am told this is a $200+ item if it can be found new. Less from a salvage yard. Replacement will involve 64 wire splices, ugh. Finding a method to extract the pin would save dollars and time over replacing the connector. Any suggestions? That is assuming all the pin receiver's are in good condition. Is there a method to test the connector to know if it is bad or if it was rewired successful after replacement?
Thanks!
