Hi Ro, THANKS for the great coaching on how to approach the terminal removal and replacement. You addressed many of the questions I had about how to proceed. A few things still worrying me that I would appreciate your advice about.
1 Is there a particular crimping tool I need when installing the new terminals or can I get by with needle nose pliers or the tool I use on other “larger” auto terminals
2 To remove the damaged terminal is there a technique to “un-crimping and de-solder” to retain the original wire length
3 if I do have to cut off a terminal end how do I regain wire length
4 There is a clear gel like grease around all the terminals where the pink slide was removed. After I clean the area as you describe do I need to replace this material and if so what is it
My question mark key died and I just realized none printed, sorry about that.
Thanks again and I will be posting about this until I am driving down the road again or run into that unexpected dilemma I can’t figure out. Nothing ventured nothing gained. My first terminal order is on the way with a delivery date of 5-15-2023. Just my luck I have travel planned from the 16 to the 23 so I will be inactive for a bit but will be back at when I return.
Best regards,
Jeff
