They are both enjoyable but different. Posted by Wil W [Email] (#1148) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Wil W) on Sat, 8 Aug 2009 21:09:16 In Reply to: C900 guy thinking about a 9-5, DFinMA, Fri, 7 Aug 2009 08:48:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
They are both good in different ways. We have 1 of each and we like both for different reasons.
My regular car is an '89 SPG and her regular car is an '02 9-5 Aero Wagon (before much of the de-contenting). She used to drive the SPG when I drove an '87 900s and she really liked it. Now she still really likes the SPG but prefers the Wagon. I told her I wanted to get a Viggen as a replacement for the SPG and she was OK with it but said I should still hold on the the SPG.
I like the SPG since it is solid, quick, handles like a go-kart but still can carry a ton of stuff. But it is old, has limited safety equipment, noisy at higher speeds, and has a pretty harsh ride.
The '02 Aero Wagon is quicker, handles great, is a great highway cruiser, is very comfortable, holds lots of stuff, and has most safety items. However, I feel more isolated from the road, I don't feel like I can whip it around as much, and it feels much bigger than the SPG.
Still, we love both cars for their different identities. They are both Saabs and similar while being different. I still want a Viggen but it does not make financial sense.
