I've owned two 9000s and three 9-5s, sort of going back and forth between the two. To me, the 9000 feels more...raw, more in keeping with the Saab spirit if you will. By any measure though, the 9-5 is a better car. More comfortable, faster (at least in Aero trim), updated safety tech, etc etc. With two young children, the choice of a 9-5 was a no brainer. As stout as the 9000 is, the 9-5 seems like the better choice for safety. And my '04 Aero is a great performer. I've also found my 9-5s to be very reliable with fewer weak points than the 9000s. I'm sure the fact that the youngest 9000 is 14 years old now has something to do with it.
