And I cannot tell you what to do. I really enjoyed driving the 9000s more that the 9-5 because they were all manual, and the 9-5 all auto. Our in town mpg dropped by 6mpg or more with auto. The 9000 was a great driving car, and I would be delighted with the performance now if the oil pressure switch ($15) had not choked.
My sense is that the 9000 has more passenger room, and about the same cargo space as my 9-5 wagons. Hwy mpg is a bit less with the 9-5 auto. I used to get 32-35mpg, now get 29-32. In town is around 20 vs 26. Repairs/maintanence are probably higher with the 9000.
However you call it Saab is a great ride for the price. Used Saabs are a bargain. I don't know how parts are going to sort out, but I'm guessing they will be around. Can't lose however you go with Saab.
