We have plenty of salt in our neck of the woods. I found them easy to remove with a little penetrating oil and an electric impact gun. The hardest/slowest part is jacking the car and removing the wheels.
I agree with you post below - the OEM ones break all the time. Febi also. It is not the metal rod that breaks, but rather the ball joint and it does not need to come out in 2 pieces to be busted. The quasi-random clunks over various sorts of bumps is the dead giveaway.
