It is worth $16 for a new lamp board to attempt the fix Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Thu, 11 Jun 2020 17:32:07 In Reply to: Re: More light issues, same corner of car, Chris Cleeland, Thu, 4 Jun 2020 08:39:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I read the WIS Sequence of Operations for the Rear Parking Lights. The right lamp gets power from pin 68 of the TWICE. The Twice monitors the resistance of the lamp circuit and issues the alarm message that is displayed on the SID stating Lamp Failure.
So, does the TWICE turn OFF pin 68 at the same time it generates the lamp failure message if it senses a failed lamp? The Sequence of Operations does not say so, but with a separate power pin for each lamp is would certainly be possible. All issues have been with the right rear lamp assembly and all lamps are located on that one $16 board.
$16 is relatively cheap compared to shop labor. I just paid 1/2 hour of labor to have a coolant temp sensor re-tightened on my wife's 9-3SC that I had replaced. And I KNOW that sensor was tight when I installed it as I really wanted another 1/2 turn of that sensor to make the electrical connection easier - but it was so tight that I didn't want to muscle the steel bodied sensor into the aluminum head any further for fear of disastrous consequences.
