Made a trip to the local pic-pull and able to remove the water pump without any difficulty. Only issue was one of the bolts in the engine yoke was stripped so I left it on. I'm kind of surprised just those two orings end up creating the coolant seal. I purchased the aluminum So housing and fitting to the block so I can have a complete unit ready to go.
I am at times a bit of an alarmist and had this crazy idea I might have lost the coolant into the transmission from the radiator and that's why I can't recreate the leak. I have NO sign of atf contamination in my coolant and unfortunately the 08 requires the battery to be pulled to remove the atf fill plug and at this point I'm feeling a bit lazy.
My question is am I crazy to even think one way contamination from radiator to transmission ?
My plan at this point is monitor the coolant level and replace the WP if/when the leak can be better identifies. Just need more knowledgeable folks to tell me my theory of coolant leaking only into the transmission AND NOT contaminating my coolant is silly.
Anyone know the size of the copper washers for the WP banjo bolt ? I would like to have a few on since My chance of dropping one or both and losing them are hand very high.
