CPS- A common complaint is that you drive somewhere and when you try to restart its a no go. Let the engine cool a bit and it starts. I've heard of the tach symptom, but there is also a way to test the cps with a volt meter. Check the WIS, available on this site.
Battery- Check the manufactur date. Anything around 3 years is suspect. My car use to crank just fine, but no start. New battery and it was fine. If you jump the car get one of those portable jump starters, I hear its safer for the computer.
Fuel pump- I dunno if this works but I had a mechanic suggest turning the key to on, let it sit for 10 seconds and turn it off. Do this 3 times and then start the car.
