Thanks Paul and others.
I am most suspicious of the fuel pump
- BUT -
the jerkiness when we tried starting it when it would not start makes me wonder a bit. Like I said - it almost seemed like the car was in gear.
Of course - when I went back over to the school to try again and hoped to avoid a tow, it started - smoothly.
Would this indicate more the CPS? I was under the impression this was something that would show up when the car was already warm, which in these cases now, it was not.
It seems like replacing both isn't a bad idea, other than the CPS sounds like a less than enjoyable trick.
BTW - car has 135,000 miles on it.
I am almost thinking of buying both parts - waiting for the gremlin to reappear - check if the fuel pump sounds like it is running - and if it is do the CPS.
Oh - and if anyone has suggestions on the power steering leak....
