Thanks for the input, pme.
I took drives with system set to "Hi" and with it set to "Lo". Top pipe by passenger feet got hot and the other one warm. Oddly, the top pipe was hotter in the "Lo" setting, which says to me that my new valve is not closing. I don't care about that, as long as it isn't leaking!
Topped off the coolant and ran the car for 10 minutes with the top off of the reservoir to release any air bubbles. Still no heat.
I guess my next step is to crawl under the steering wheel and start taking things apart. Has to warm up some first!
