What is a bigger percentage of the labour and cost though? Pulling and swapping engines (and possibly other stuff) or parts and labour to rebuild the engine once out of the car? It's a good suggestion if his car is high mileage and rust free, but the economic sense probably depends on the cost ratio, and also the availability of locally rusted out low mileage examples (usually most local cars are similar condition, eg around here, pretty much all Saabs are getting rusty due to age)...
