Car should start regardless of air mass meter condition (in "limp-home" mode). What do you mean it is "fouled"? I just don't want you to buy an expensive part that doesn't get your car running. It's usually something much less exotic, like a loose hall effect connection or bad grounds at the injection harness, that keeps a C900 from starting.
