Might be even easier to ask who on the board has spent more than $7000 on a used c900? If so, what year and mileage? All original color? Were you satisfied with the purchase?
The most I have spent on a c900 is $2750 for my '94 Commemorative Edition. At the time, it was on an ebay auction that was up over $5000 when I made the deal with the seller locally. He decided to sell it for the agreed price and cancelled the ebay auction. I would imagine it would have gone over $8000 if he had let it run, but to my great surprise he was a very honorable man. Then I have a friend who spent around $10,000 for his CE in worse shape than mine and he was thrilled!
So I guess it goes to show that even though you or I would not spend that much, it does not mean it's not worth that much to someone. As I have said before, he is only looking to please one person - the future buyer. Not everyone.
AND, we should be encouraging this kind of thing. If we are all current owners of c900s, then a sale at this price can only increase the value of ours. I say go for it! That's my 2 cents.
