Only 1979 and 1980.

Years ago, in 1997 I bought a five door, and placed a 16valve engine in it, later I did the same thing to a 99.

But those were different days, when it was a wow thing to have a newer engine in an older car. A 16 valve engine is not a big thing today.

But, I would never do that now. I recall throwing out good GLE seats, and B engine. Part of the enjoyment is the rare differences over the years-seats, no console, thin bumper strips, flag type mirrors, large headrests, B engine, etc

A few years later, I bought a 99, and was so impressed with that little B engine, and four speed. No hesitation on the pick up- could easily outpace a 16valve turbo from the light.

Don't get me wrong- Tom car is nice, seats look redone and mint, like the floormats, etc.. The article indicated that he did this in 1991- so that makes sense.

But I still think an original example would fetch more. My two pennies-of course. Hopefully, Tom gets the 15,000 price.
