Like many tasks on the Saab, this sounds like one that should be done on a lift - which I don't have access to. It's been soaking all night, and I'll try a couple of heat cycles with the torch this morning, but I'm not optimistic.
This is a moot question, but why would any engineer design a system where you can't get a tool on the fastener in a convenient way? Perhaps being aircraft guys they expected us all to perform complete overhauls every 1000 hours? It really frosts me when I see a machine that was designed with no consideration for the poor guy who has to maintain it.
