Not really - it's a pretty straightforward operation. It's easiest to use a sealed AGM-type battery so you don't have to worry about venting gas, but after several iterations I finally resolved to using a battery from a Jaguar - it's low profile, long and narrow (relatively speaking) and has a dedicated vent as it's designed to be mounted in the interior. I mount it along the passenger side wheel well in the trunk to offset the driver's weight and intrude as minimally as possible in the trunk. You can buy a battery box or a battery tray to keep it in, whatever is most appealing. My most recent creation is sitting in some creatively modified rectangle tube aluminum, with hefty t-nuts in the floor plywood to attach the crossbar.
It's easiest to run the positive cable from the battery to the starter via the driver's side sill, then to the alternator and then to the junction near the passenger front wheel. I have run a ground cable from the battery up the passenger side sill to the ground point at the radiator and just grounded under the back seat. I can tell no functional difference between both ground points, and neither can my multimeter, so I'd just keep it under the back seat.
Nice thing about the battery relocation is that in addition to getting the battery away from the turbo, it redistributes some weight from a nose-heavy car and clear up room for a big downpipe. ;)
