It was unseasonably warm this past weekend so I tried the manual hammer blows, bit it didn't budge.
I hit the three threaded studs protruding from the turbo housing with a lot of 'PB Blaster' and again nothing. Then I finally hit all three studs with the propane torch for a few minutes each, same result.
I'll have to get an air hammer now, but it looks like I'll only be able to work it across the top of the elbow housing because there won't be any clearance to get a chisel attachment on either side or underneath. I can see this air hammer possibly destroying the elbow and/or the edge of the turbo housing. It could even break one or more of the studs since there will be some downward pressure put on the elbow by working it only from the topside of the elbow and there not all that thick and it has to slide out horizontally, not vertically.
Can you tell I'm a little nervous?
