I finally got a good day to spend time on trying to remove the elbow since the weather cooperated. I soaked the seam several times for over an hour and tried to dislodge it with a rubber mallet, but the mallet itself started to breakup at the edges. I figured a razor on the seam would help. I even took a flat blade screwdriver and lightly tapped it on the seam along the top, but I was afraid of cracking the elbow so I didn't hit it hard, just light taps. Neither attempt worked.
I included two pictures and you can see where I used PB Blaster on the seam.
Also on the second picture just above the 'circle' that's cast into the elbow there is a 'dent'.....I don't remember it before, but since this is a cast piece, wouldn't it crack or break rather than dent?
At this point I'm thinking the I have to find another elbow with the O2 sensor socket and then end up destroying mine. I don't know where this goes from here.
Any other ideas?
